I am an artist, traveler, and passionate educator, dedicated to capturing the beauty of nature and wildlife through oil painting. My journey has taken me from the vibrant jungles of Peru to the misty forests of Costa Rica, where I’ve photographed rare birds and breathtaking landscapes. These experiences fuel my creativity, transforming my photography into paintings that tell the wild stories of nature, flora and wildlife.
From Healing to Painting
Before embracing art full-time, I spent years in healthcare as a Registered Nurse and healthcare administrator, improving patient care and mentoring others. With a master’s degree in nursing and a specialization in adult education, I’ve always loved teaching—and now, I channel that passion into helping others discover the wonder of oil painting.
Oil Painting is My Creative Language
A great painting isn’t just seen—it’s felt. My goal is to bring viewers into the moment, to make them feel the awe, wonder, and connection I experience with every subject I paint. I specialize in representational oil painting of wildlife, flowers and landscapes. My style and attention to detail allows me to capture the depth, complexity, and emotion of my subjects. I travel extensively to capture photographs of the natural world and transform them into beautiful paintings. Each journey fuels my interest as I expand my vision and meet beautiful people along the way who share their cultures, stories and generosity. Whether in my studio or painting en plein air, I aim to create pieces that immerse viewers in the beauty of nature. I hope my work inspires others to appreciate and protect the incredible world we share.
Teaching & Inspiring New Artists
I believe painting should be fun, encouraging, and stress-free—especially for beginners! My students range from first-time painters to experienced artists, and I’ve developed a unique teaching method that makes oil painting accessible and rewarding. Many of my students return week after week, building confidence and skill with every brushstroke.
A World of Inspiration
The natural world is my greatest muse. I’ve watched a Resplendent Quetzal soar through the rainforest and a majestic tiger stroll to a stream in India. Each journey deepens my appreciation for wildlife and fuels my desire to share these moments through my art. But beyond the landscapes and animals, the people I meet along the way—their cultures, stories, and generosity—also inspire me to create.
